Welcome to our team, a dedicated bunch of people who all share a love for creativity. We all take a deep pride in our work and each member fulfills their role to a high degree ensuring your complete satisfaction with your canvas print. As a team we possess a variety of skills, we have brought these skills together to create a high quality hand crafted piece of art for you and others to enjoy. Our team members consist of:
Julian
Julian is the boss; he is in charge of production and the day to day running of the business. Julian is responsible for ensuring your complete satisfaction with your canvas print. He is a perfectionist through and through and makes sure everything runs like clockwork. Julian has a successful business background and has also enjoyed photography as a hobby for over 30 years. Julian is finally fulfilling his dream to work full time at something he has a great passion for.
Lesley
Lesley specializes in stretching the canvases onto the stretcher frames and has attended various courses and workshops in this specialized field. Lesley will ensure you receive a beautiful and carefully stretched canvas which will last for generations to come.
Richie
Richie is our in house graphic designer. Richie loves to get creative with pictures and has the patience and skill to create and edit pictures with the use of Photoshop. He is highly skilled with this application and has wowed many with some spectacular results. Richie is a professional and will dedicate hours to his work.
Richard
Richard is our in house frame maker; he is perfectionist in his work and has been in the frame making business for many years. Each frame produced is lovingly hand crafted for you to enjoy.
Simon
Simon works in sales and customer services. Any problems/queries speak to Simon and he will get straight onto the case. Simon has been in customer services for 8 years. He loves to talk but will always listen. Simon appreciates the importance of his role and will never leave you waiting for an answer; he is the man to deal with should you have an enquiry.
Val
Val is our administrator however she also has a degree in modern art and a great eye for what looks good. Val keeps us all up to date with what is going on in the modern art world. If you are having trouble choosing color schemes or styles then Val is on hand to offer advice.
Materials
Printer
Our 12 ink large format printer produces prints up to an amazing 2400 x 1200 dpi (dots per inch) ensuring a razor sharp high quality image. Using UV pigmented inks guarantees long lasting fade resistance of more than 100 years.
Frames
We only use top quality stretcher bars which are made from kiln dried Fir wood. This wood has been carefully selected to avoid dampness and warping, and profiled to give maximum strength and stability to the frame when joined together. Unlike some pine woods, fir does not continue to grow and warp when it has been heat treated
You will also notice that the profiles of our stretcher bars are slightly rounded. This has two major advantages:
- It allows the framer to see and obtain clear edges on images that have precise borders.
- It allows the canvas weave to "roll over" the profile rather than snap over a sharp edge which is a major cause of canvas cracking.
Canvas
ALL our stretcher frames are assembled in house to the highest standard and the canvases are then individually hand finished over the 38mm deep frame by our experienced canvas stretcher. All our printed canvases are made with high grade artist's 100% cotton canvas ensuring your canvas will be of the highest quality when you receive it.
Process
Preparing the photograph for print
Once we receive your image our graphic designer sets to work preparing your photograph for print. This process involves checking the resolution of your picture to ensure that it will enlarge to the size you have requested. Our designer will consult you immediately if he feels the resolution of your image is too low to blow up to the desired size. It may be possible to de-pixelate your digital image if the quality of enlargement is poor. This process is normally possible on images taken with a digital camera of 3mp or more and can produce some stunning results. The image will be cropped according to your requests and with the use of software our designer will adjust the balance and contrast to get the best from your original photograph. At this stage any minor adjustments such as red eye will be removed. Any special effects you may have ordered will now be applied to your image. When this is complete a proof will be e-mailed to you so that you know exactly what you are getting.
Printing
Your image is now ready to be printed. All our printing is done in house by our experienced operators. The monitor is expertly calibrated to ensure that the colours you see on the screen will match the colours on the printer. The image is printed onto quality artist's grade 340 gsm white matte cotton canvas. Our printer uses 12 colour pigment inks and prints at a resololution of 2,400 dpi producing outstanding quality printing. Pigment inks on 100% cotton canvas have the best fade resistance and life expectancy (colourfast for up to 100 years) available today and will ensure outstanding life like reproduction quality.
Stretching and framing
Your canvas print is then professionally stretched over our deep 38 mm profile solid pine stretcher bars. The canvas print is neatly finished with framing tape over the staples leaving a flush and tidy finish.
In its final stages the print is ready to be inspected and approved by the production manager before being carefully wrapped in protective bubble wrap with corner protectors and packed securely in a reinforced cardboard box. It is then sent out to you by courier and delivered to your door. We are confident that you will be delighted to receive your finished piece of canvas art.
PACKAGING & DELIVERY
Packaging
Your canvas print will arrive securely wrapped in bubble wrap with protective corners fitted. The canvas print will be packed tightly and securely in a custom fitted reinforced cardboard box.
Delivery Times
Your canvas print will be sent by Royal Mail 1st class delivery service within 4 working days of us receiving your order. Our working week is Monday - Thursday. Orders placed after 4.00pm will be processed the following morning. Please note orders placed after 4.00pm Thursday will be processed the following Monday morning.
We do request a prompt reply to the preview we send you. Please remember that any delay in replying to us will affect your delivery time.
